Search for green web hosting and you’ll mostly find the modern platforms — Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel — which are excellent, verified, and what we recommend for static sites. They also share a trait nobody mentions: there’s no cPanel in sight.
That matters more than the modern-stack world admits. If you run WordPress, manage email at your own domain, hand sites over to clients who expect a familiar panel, or simply want one place for files, databases, and backups — you need traditional hosting. And the honest question is whether you can have that and verified renewable infrastructure. You can. The list is just short.
Why the overlap is so thin

GreenGeeks — cPanel hosting with 300%-matched wind energy credits. The catch for UK buyers: no UK data centre (Amsterdam is the closest), so latency and data-residency requirements rule it out for some. Fine where neither matters.

- The directory, not the badge. A leaf logo is design; a Green Web Foundation listing is evidence. Check the provider — and after migrating, check your own domain shows as verified.
- Green at the base tier. Some hosts sell “eco” as a premium variant of the same racks. If the infrastructure is renewable, it’s renewable for the £3 plan too; don’t pay twice for the same electrons.
- Where the data centre actually is. UK data residency matters for some clients and contracts — Krystal and Kualo keep data in the UK; several well-known “green” names don’t.
