CubTrack

CubTrack is a baby and toddler tracking app built for tired parents, carers, and grandparents. OakFox designed, developed, and marketed the product end-to-end — from brand identity and UX through to launch on Android, with iOS on the way.

The Problem

New parents juggle feeds, naps, nappy changes, medications, and milestones across multiple caregivers — often relying on spreadsheets, group chats, or memory. Existing apps were either bloated with features nobody asked for or looked like they hadn’t been updated since 2015. There was nothing that felt calm, modern, and genuinely built for one-handed use at 3am.

The Brief

Build a complete product from scratch — brand, UX, app, marketing site, and go-to-market strategy. The app needed to feel effortless for sleep-deprived parents, support shared access across caregivers, and work reliably on Android with an iOS build to follow.

The Solution

Brand Identity

The CubTrack brand was built around one word: calm. Every decision — from colour to type to UI density — was made to reduce cognitive load.

Colour Palette

  • Soft Sage (#A8C5A0) — the primary brand colour. Calming, gender-neutral, and associated with growth and care. Used across the app UI and marketing.
  • Warm Cream (#FEF0D8) — the dominant background tone. Softer than white, easier on tired eyes, and gives the brand warmth without sweetness.
  • Forest (#3D6B4F) — a deeper green for headings, active states, and emphasis. Grounds the palette and adds authority.
  • Charcoal (#2D2D2D) — used for body text. Softer than pure black, reducing eye strain during night feeds.

Typography

The app uses clean, rounded sans-serif typefaces chosen for maximum readability at small sizes on mobile screens. Headings are slightly bolder to create hierarchy without shouting — critical when the user is half asleep.
